characterised by economy
the rules of modernity
the subversion of vice
within these four walls

head hands arms breast
the leaves of trees lean
three large grey mountains
four square tower blocks
rising upward to skies of
birds aeroplanes fish

peace marches through
the past of our stained
stored memory boxes
love-ins raves chained
to railings psychedelia
hyde park speeches

the lens film the speech
gelled papers surface
light commands our
acts of war hanging in
a barb wire window
within these four walls
